It's very sweet! I love it! I hope you are able to get my current blog pot-which is Nov. 19 I think. I am not posting regularly-hope to get better at that!
OMG Barb, she is magnificent. I love her face, her hair and her clothes. Well done my friend. She is a beauty. Thank you for sharing with FFO and have a very nice weekend.
Thanks Nicole! I like keeping up with FFO but have moved on from my earlier desire to create ghoulish entities. So as long as a face is still the only requirement I’ll be around. I adore the way your portraits have evolved through the years!!! Your talent is limitless.
I love her. I'm not sure she looks grumpy though, but you know her personality the best. I wonder what will make her less grumpy. :) Happy weekend Barb. hugs-Erika
She does look itchy and uncomfortable! But she is better off than the papier mache mess she used to be. I hope she is grateful. Seriously, thanks Gene.
Years ago I kept a blog, mostly sharing creative projects from our NJ location I thought would never change. However, life did bring changes and after 46 years in NJ, we now live in beautiful New England. We downsized to a very old historic house in Massachusetts that we fell in love with the first time we saw it. We have spent most of this year settling in and making it our own. My choice for being creative is still painting, but I’m now taking a class in watercolor, something I could never get right. What I’ve learned is that it’s much more involved than I imagined. So I’m going forward with a wonderful instructor, and I look forward to each weekly class. I’ll start this first post with a few favorites and am open to any and all suggestions. I’m looking forward to blogging again, topics not limited. Just post what you have been doing since last we “met”!
The best advice when I was trying to set up a blog after years out of practice was from Kathyloraine (aka Kathyinozarks). She wrote "keep it simple". I'm still feeling inept compared to what I used to do, but at least I have learned how to share and comment. Taking a watercolor class has helped since I enjoy that a lot and it gives me something to share. This small 6x6" watercolor was inspired by our recent weather. It's so white everywhere here in MA and it's not melting anytime soon. There is no green left on our trees, but I left some in my painting. I tried to depict a bit of snow flurrying by splattering some white paint. It worked but not as much as hoped so I went back to keeping it simple. (Sorry, click "Read More" for entire post and correct photo size.)
Awesome

ReplyDeleteFinally, Erika, I get to reply and thank you! It feels great to be back. Hugs back…
DeleteMethinks the gown is uncomfortable regardless of how beautiful it is. Maybe that is why Trudy is grumpy.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday/!?

DeleteWhat a wonderful little doll. I don't think she's grumpy, I think she looks a little bit sad.
ReplyDeleteI agree she looks sad, thanks for the comment!
DeleteCongratulations on being featured on Nicole's FFO! I love your papier-mache doll, and her sweet face. Happy Holidays!
