Keeping It Simple

The best advice when I was trying to set up a blog after years out of practice was from Kathyloraine (aka Kathyinozarks). She wrote "keep it simple". I'm still feeling inept compared to what I used to do, but at least I have learned how to share and comment. Taking a watercolor class has helped since I enjoy that a lot and it gives me something to share. This small 6x6" watercolor was inspired by our recent weather. It's so white everywhere here in MA and it's not melting anytime soon. There is no green left on our trees, but I left some in my painting. I tried to depict a bit of snow flurrying by splattering some white paint. It worked but not as much as hoped so I went back to keeping it simple. 1. Oh Barb this is a stunning painting. Everything is so well observed. The shadow of the tree, the falling snow. Brilliant just brilliant. Have a great day today

    1. Thank you so much Nicole. I’m trying to paint without too much inspiration like a picture or another painting. The lightly falling snow was an afterthought.
